Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Dominican Republic area.
The Dominican Republic resides on the eastern two thirds of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, which is second in size only
to Cuba. Haiti occupies the western third. The green and brown mountainous terrain rising up from beaches of very fine,
pure white sand provide a dynamic palette of color that contrasts beautifully with the continuously perfect golf weather.
The local music is a unique, rural marriage of accordian, saxophone and box bass called Merengue, and the cuisine also is
unique and creative, strongly flavored but never overbearing, using only natural, locally grown ingredients in unusual
combinations. Although torn by civil strife in recent decades, the Dominican Republic is beginning to heal and is becoming
a more popular place to visit, especially for those who prefer a more Hispanic rhythm to the English or French ambiance of
some of the other Caribbean islands.
